Sunday’s Prayer — February 7, 2021

Are you there God it’s me...

The spirit of anxiety is trying to overtake me! What times I am anxious, let me rest in thy Spirit oh God. Thy Spirit protects me, comforts me, guides me, and even strengthens me. I have no need to be afraid. I have no need to fear the future, for you hold me in your loving hands. My comings and my goings are all known by you, before I know them myself. You care for me. Knowing that, I can cast off my anxieties and worries and focus on acknowledging you dear Father.

Bless the work of my hands on this day. Because it is your work oh God. May my hands be your hands, my voice your voice, my spirit your Spirit. Even though I am helping to lead praise and worship, allow me to also fully enter into that praise and worship. For you alone are worthy of it.

Teach me how to pray dear Lord. Help me to be more honest with myself and you so that I can bring ALL of my joys and concerns to you. Not just the ones I don’t mind sharing, not just the ones I’m not embarrassed about. God I ask you also to bless me with a spirit of discernment. There are many things I should be praying for, but I cannot discern them or make them out from all of the noise of the world. Enhance my spiritual sight so that I am able to rightly perceive what to pray for.

And lastly bless me with more generosity Lord. I spend so much time praying for myself and my concerns. Help me to pray more for others more than I do for myself. Help me to have a heart for the people so that when it comes time to pray corporately, I can truly hold the needs and spirits of the people as dearly as I hold my own.

I rise up on this day of resurrection, praise and worship and lift holy hands to you. It is in Jesus’ name and for his sake I pray.

Amen
