Saturday’s Prayer — March 20, 2021

Are you there God it’s me...

Waking in the middle of the night reminds me I am grateful, not just for the blessing of waking up refreshed, but also for the restfullness of uninterrupted sleep. Thank you for letting restless nights be few and far between. All that I experience is in your hands.

Thank you for my cat. She is a reminder that I am never alone and that you care for me. How wonderful are your thoughts towards me.

Let me fully submit to your will Lord. Help me walk the way you have prepared for me with courage and sure footing. Show me how to discern the times and adjust my ways accordingly. Remind me that you are always with me, so I can be unaffaid of whatever may come. Whom you call you also prepare.

Bless the lonely. Give them companionship to appreciate and resiliency to endure. Let them know that you are a constant friend. Help me be more interested in and receptive to the lives and situations of others. Bless me to be a light to those in darkness.

In these pre-dawn hours, it is easy to imagine Christ in communion with you as the world sleeps dear Father. And it is sweet to feel invited into that conversation, as if you have been waiting for me. Thank you for hearing my prayers. Our time together is always special. It is in Jesus’ name and for his sake I pray.

Amen
