Thursday’s Prayer - January 21, 2021

Are you there God it’s me...

Why must the good suffer, while the wicked go unpunished? In this world there are so many injustices that dare me to declare you are not real, good, all-powerful. Still I see you; in the dawn of each new day, in the cries of the newborn, in the eye of peace in the middle of the storm. Let me be I afraid to declare you Lord, even in the midst of the storm.

Lord I believe. Help my unbelief.

Show me what I must do to help the kingdom of God break forth; on earth as it is in heaven. Let me see you hand at work today, especially when it is hard to discern the good and the holy because of all the woes in this world. Remind me that you are God, even when the world tries to say it is my situation, not my savior, that rules over all.

Lord I believe. Help my unbelief.

Help me to let the light you have giving me shine forth, no matter how oppressive the darkness. It is easy to forget that perfect love casts out fear. Remind me at all times with your unconditional love and bless me to be able to remind others by reflecting that love. What time I am afraid, teach me to turn to you and love you more.

Lord I believe. Help my unbelief.

I thank you in advance for answered prayer. I celebrate that wherever I turn, you are already there to meet me. It is in Jesus’ name and for his sake I pray. I love you.

Amen
